Un important mouvement de foule s’est produit ce lundi soir vers 21h30 rue Masséna, à Nice, faisant plusieurs blessés légers.

Un important mouvement de foule s’est produit ce lundi vers 21h30 place Magenta et rue Masséna, dans le centre-ville de Nice. Douze personnes ont été légèrement blessées, notamment par des éclats de verre. La terrasse de la pizzeria Cresci, située au 34 rue Masséna, a notamment été renversée lors du mouvement de panique.

Selon la police nationale, plusieurs personnes ont été interpellées et la situation était sous contrôle à 22h30.

Le maire de Nice, Christian Estrosi, a indiqué que des détonations sont à l’origine du mouvement de panique. Un individu aurait fait usage d’un pistolet d’alarme suite à un différend.

Selon les premiers éléments de l’enquête, le bruit d’un véhicule pétaradant serait à l’origine de ce mouvement de panique. Un bruit important, du type explosion de pétard ou moteur de voiture bruyant avait été entendu par plusieurs témoins. Mais il ne s’agirait donc pas d’un jet de pétard: aucune trace n’a été retrouvée sur les lieux.

Le mouvement de foule s’est produit dimanche vers 22h30 à proximité de la Pinède, une zone touristique dont les terrasses de bars et restaurants sont particulièrement fréquentées l’été. 70 personnes ont été légèrement blessées, victimes de coupures ou de piétinement.

Pas d’acte terroriste ni de malveillance délibérée

Il ne s’agirait pas d’un acte de malveillance: la vidéosurveillance ne montre aucune voiture en fuite. L’endroit exact d’où serait parti ce mouvement de panique n’est pas encore déterminé. Si la voiture est retrouvée, son conducteur risque une amende tout au plus pour le bruit causé par son véhicule, si aucune autre infraction n’est rélevée.

Le maire d’Antibes (donc dépend le quartier de Juan-les Pins), Jean Leonetti (LR) a annoncé lundi vouloir porter plaine contre X.

But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Each article is translated on a paragraph by paragraph basis so easy to read in either language and even possible to improve either language by comparison of the short English and French paragraphs. Amusez vous bien. The author is currently writing an easy to read technical aviation book centered around the Fokker 50. Another interest is that dealt with in another of Bill's websites www.realnamara.net, a Statue of the mother of God, Mary. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
