Été 2018 : le nombre de noyades accidentelles a augmenté de 30%

Dans son enquête, Santé publique France révèle que l’âge moyen des personnes qui se noient est de 22 ans et 5 mois pour l’ensemble des noyades accidentelles.

Entre le 1er juin et le 30 septembre 2018, 1 649 noyades accidentelles ont été recensées, selon l’enquête* menée par Santé publique France publiée mardi 11 juin. Cela représente une augmentation de 30% par rapport l’enquête précédente qui datait de 2015. Un quart de ces noyades accidentelles ont été suivies d’un décès.

En grande majorité les noyades sont accidentelles (84%), les autres sont d’origine intentionnelle (8%), ou de cause inconnue (8%). Les départements qui enregistrent le plus de noyades sont ceux qui ont une façade maritime. Le Var, les Bouches-du-Rhône, la Gironde, l’Hérault et les Pyrénées-Orientales concentrent à eux seuls près d’une noyade sur trois.

La mer, principal lieu de noyade

Les lieux où se produisent le plus de noyades sont la mer (44%), les piscines (31%) et les cours d’eau ou plans d’eau (22%). Les noyades en mer concernent principalement des adultes à partir de 45 ans, celles en piscine des enfants de moins de 6 ans et celles dans les cours d’eau des adultes entre 25 et 44 ans.

L’âge moyen des personnes qui se noient est de 22 ans et 5 mois pour l’ensemble des noyades accidentelles et de 51 ans et 6 mois pour les noyades accidentelles suivies de décès. Les circonstances sont le plus souvent liées à un malaise dans 20% des cas.

*L’enquête “Noyades” a été réalisée par questionnaire auprès des services de secours organisés (pompiers, Samu-Smur, etc.) du 1er juin au 30 septembre en France métropolitaine et en Outre-mer.

But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Each article is translated on a paragraph by paragraph basis so easy to read in either language and even possible to improve either language by comparison of the short English and French paragraphs. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
