26 départements sont placés en vigilance orange pour la canicule par Météo France, entre mardi après-midi et mercredi matin. La zone concernée s’étend du Val-d’Oise au Lot-et-Garonne.

26 departments have been placed on orange alert for a heatwave by Meteo France, between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. The zone extends from the Val-d’Oise to Lot-et-Garonne.

Les fortes chaleurs risquent bien d’évoluer en canicule sur une partie de la France. Les dernières prévisions de Météo France lancent une alerte orange pour trois régions : la Bourgogne, l’Ile-de-France et le Limousin. Onze département s’ajoutent à cette vigilance : l’Ain, l’Allier, le Cher, la Dordogne , l’Indre, la Loire, le Loiret, le Lot, le Lot-et-Garonne, le Puy-de-Dôme et le Rhône.
The high temperatures are developing into a heatwave for a part of France (see map below). The latest foreasts from Meteo France launch an orange alert for three regions: Bourgogne, l’Ile-de-France et le Limousin. Eleven departments are added to this alert: l’Ain, l’Allier, le Cher, la Dordogne , l’Indre, la Loire, le Loiret, le Lot, le Lot-et-Garonne, le Puy-de-Dôme et le Rhône.

Du très chaud de mardi 14h à mercredi 7h. Hottest between Tuesday 14h00 and Wednesday 07h00.

Mardi, c’est une véritable pompe à chaleur qui va remonter d’Espagne. Cet air chaud  va progresser du sud-ouest au bassin parisien jusqu’à la région lyonnaise. C’est dans l’après-midi de mardi que les températures atteindront des valeurs caniculaires. Les maximales, selon Météo France atteindront souvent les 35 degrés. 37 degrés sont attendus sur Lyon, les 40 seront atteints et parfois dépassés dans le sud-ouest.
Les températures minimales resteront souvent au-dessus de 20 degrés dans la nuit de mardi à mercredi. Une nuit chaude qui pourrait se dupliquer jusqu’à la fin de semaine.

On Tuesday a veritable heat pump is going to build from Spain. This hot air is going to progress from the SW to Paris and as far as Lyon. On Tuesday afternoon the temperatures will reach heatwave values. According to Meteo France temperatures will frequently reach 35*C, with 37*C around Lyon and 40*C in parts of the SW. Minimum night-time temperatures will stay above 20*C on Tuesday/Wednesday. These hot nights will be replicated until the end of the week.

Prévention à Paris

Dans la capitale, concernée par la canicule à venir, la maire Anne Hidalgo, a annoncé le déclenchement des mesures d’accompagnement. Un communiqué de la mairie précise que dès mardi, les personnes vulnérables seront contactées. En cas d’inquiétude, un médecin et un travailleur social pourront intervenir. Des salles “rafraîchies” seront ouvertes en fonction des besoins, notamment dna sles mairies d’arrondissements.  Un numéro de téléphone a été activé par les autorités afin de dispenser les conseil d’usage en cas de forte chaleur. Ce numéro vert a notamment été relayé par la ministre de la Santé sur Twitter. Il fera chaud mardi et mercredi dans les secteurs proches de l’Atlantique, mais selon les prévisions de Météo France, une masse d’air océanique plus fraiche va permettre une baisse importante des températures. Le pic de chaleur pour ces régions côtières ne devant durer que deux jours, ces départements ont été placés en vigilance jaune.

In the capital, concerning the heatwave to come, Mayor Anne Hildago has announced the launching of accompanying measures. She has said that from Tuesday vulnerable people will be contacted. In case of worries a doctor and a social worker will intervene. “Air conditioned” centres will be open as needed in the department/region/towns mayors offices (Foyers). A special telephone number will be manned to be used in case of powerful heatwave. This freephone number was published by the Minister for Health twitter account. It will be hot on Tue and Wed close to the Atlantic, but a fresher Oceanic air-mass will force temperatures down considerably. The peak temperatures in the outlying regions will not last more than two days, these departments have been given yellow alert.
