Côte d’Ivoire : Alassane Ouattara réélu dès le premier tour

Le président ivoirien sortant, Alassane Ouattara, vient d’être réélu pour une second mandat de cinq ans. Il a obtenu dès le premier tour 83,666% des voix lors du scrutin de dimanche dernier. La Commission électorale indépendante a publié les résultats officiels ce mercredi matin.

Sans surprise et avec 83,66% des suffrages, dès le premier tour, Alassane Ouattara a été très largement réélu pour un second mandat de président de la Côte d’Ivoire, pour cinq années. La Commission électorale indépendante (CEI) a dévoilé ce mercredi matin le résultat du vote de dimanche 25 octobre.

Alassane Ouattara faisait figure de grand favori, d’autant que trois candidats et une partie de l’opposition appelait au boycott du scrutin, au nom de la fidélité à l’ancien président Laurent Gbagbo, actuellement emprisonné au Pays-Bas en attendant son jugement pour crimes contre l’Humanité. Le taux de participation n’a donc pas dépassé les 54,63%.

D’ailleurs pour les électeurs qui ont refusé de se rendre aux urnes, l’humeur n’était pas à la fête ce mercredi matin. Ils ne croient pas que la commission électorale soit crédible. “C’est des mises en scène télé. En tant qu’Ivoirien je suis très touché mais je ne peu rien dire,” raconte un homme aussi à une terrasse.

Bill wrote articles for the 50th, 60th and most recently the 70th anniversary, (12 Aug 2016) all were published in the Wicklow Times and ensured the survivors of the crash, all French Girl Guides, were not forgotten. Articles reproduced on this website. But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Each article is translated on a paragraph by paragraph basis so easy to read in either language and even possible to improve either language by comparison of the short English and French paragraphs. Another interest is that dealt with in another of Bill's websites www.realnamara.net, a Statue of the mother of God, Mary. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
