L’actrice, compagne du président de la République, s’est rendue sur le Mont-Valérien ce jeudi pour une commémoration de l’appel du 18 juin. Elle est arrivée un peu avant François Hollande, mais est restée en retrait, avec son père et son grand-père, compagnon de la Libération. Elle était d’ailleurs présente officiellement “en tant que petite-fille d’Alain Gayet”, 92 ans.

The actress, girlfriend of the French president, was present at Mont-Valerien this Thursday for the commemoration of 18 June. She arrived just ahead of Francois Hollande, but she stayed in the background, with her father and grand-father, participant of the Liberation. She was presented officially “as the grand-daughter of 92 year old Alain Gayet”.

Pour la première fois, Julie Gayet s’est retrouvée ce jeudi en même temps que François Hollande lors d’un déplacement officiel du président de la République. L’actrice, qui est aussi la compagne du chef de l’Etat, s’est rendue sur le Mont-Valérien. C’est sur cette coline des Hauts-de-Seine près de Paris, qu’ont été fusillés en 1941 et 1942 plus d’un millier de résistants.

Officiellement, ce n’est d’ailleurs pas comme compagne que l’actrice a fait ce déplacement, mais “en tant que petite-fille d’Alain Gayet”. L’homme de 92 ans a répondu à l’appel du 18 juin en se rendant à Londres dès 1940, il a participé à la bataille d’El-Alamein, l’un des tournants de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Alain Gayet est commandeur de la Légion d’honneur et croix de guerre.

Officially, the actress was not presented as Hollande’s partner but as the “grand-daughter of Alain Gayet”. The 92 year old was there to recall the 18 June, while he was in London in 1940, he took part in the battle of El-Alamein, a turning point of the Second World War. Alain Gayet was awarded the Legion of Honour and the croix de guerre.

Cette présence de Julie Gayet peut toutefois apparaître comme une sorte d’officialisation. “Bien entendu, c’est une première apparition publique“, explique Frank Tapiro, président de l’agence de communication Hémisphère droit. Il a estimé sur France Info que cette sortie est “habile“. “C’est assez sobre, assez solennel”, selon le spécialiste en communication politique. Julie Gayet apparaît aussi en Une de l’hebdomadaire Paris-Match, publié ce jeudi.
