L’armée française annonce ce mercredi qu’elle a abattu quatre terroristes dans la nuit du 17 au 18 mai lors d’une opération dans le Nord du Mali, dont deux importants chefs djihadistes.

The French army announced on Wednesday that it cut down four terrorists overnight on Sunday-Monday the 17 and 18 May during one of it’s operations in Northern Mali, including two major djihadist leaders.

Deux des principaux chefs djihadistes au Sahel ont été abattus par l’armée française, indique ce mercredi le ministère de la Défense dans un communiqué. En tout, quatre terroristes sont morts lors d’une opération menée par les troupes françaises dans la nuit du 17 au 18 mai dans le Nord du Mali.

The ministry of Defence announced the felling of the Sahel djihadists in a communiqué. In all four terrorists are dead in the operation by the French troops in the north of Mali.

 Parmi eux figurent Amada Ag Hama alias “Abdelkrim le Touareg” et Ibrahim Ag Inawalen, deux des principaux chefs d’Al Qaïda au Maghreb Islamique (Aqmi) et d’Ansar Dine. Ces deux groupes sont “responsables de nombreuses attaques terroristes contre les forces internationales, ainsi que d’exactions répétées à l’encontre des populations maliennes,” précise le ministère de la Défense dans le communiqué.
Notable among the dead are  Amada Ag Hama alias “Abdelkrim le Touareg” and Ibrahim Ag Inawalen, two principles of Al Qaida Maghreb Islamists (Aqmi) and Ansar Dine. These two groups are “responsible for many terrorist attacks against international forces, and repeated violent encounters with the Malien people”, said the minister of defence in the communiqué.

“Abdelkrim le Touareg” est notamment lié à l’enlèvement et au meurtre des journalistes Ghislaine Dupont et Claude Verlon à Kidal, en 2013.
