Rail strikes in France: Disruptions for Wed 4 April

Grève à la SNCF : TGV, TER, RER… Voici les prévisions de trafic pour la journée de mercredi

La direction table sur les mêmes fréquences que mardi, à l’exception des TGV qui devraient être légèrement plus nombreux.

Acte 1, scène 2. Le trafic ferroviaire restera “très perturbé”, mercredi 4 avril, pour le deuxième jour de grève contre la réforme ferroviaire. Un TGV sur 7, un TER et un Transilien sur 5 devraient circuler, selon les prévisions de la SNCF.

Rail traffic will stay “very disrupted” for Wednesday April 4 during the strike against railway reform: 

TGV: Only 1 in 7                                                                                                                     TER: Only 1 in 5.                                                                                                                                    Transilien: 1 in 5.

La direction table sur les mêmes fréquences que mardi, à l’exception des TGV qui devraient être légèrement plus nombreux. Après la première séquence de mardi et mercredi, les prochains jours de grève sont prévus les 8 et 9 avril.

The table shows the same frequency as today (Tuesday) , with the exception of the TGV which will be slightly more disruptive. Following on from yesterday and today, the next strike days are expected for 8 and 9 April.

Un TGV sur sept devrait rouler. One TGV in seven will operate.

Pour les TGV, si la moyenne annoncée est de 1 train sur 7, il ne faudra pas compter sur plus d’un TGV sur 10 dans le Sud-Est et 1 sur 8 vers l’Atlantique. Dans le Nord et dans l’Est, 1 train sur 4 est prévu.

For the TGV, the average is announced is 1 in 7, but one can only expect one TGV in ten in the SE and 1 in 8 towards the Atlantic coast. In the North and the East only 1 in 4 is expected.

Entre un train sur deux et un sur six sur le RER. Between 1 train in 2 and 1 in 6 on the RER.

En Ile-de-France, comme mardi, la situation variera selon les lignes, entre 1 train sur 2 sur le RER A et un 1 sur 6 sur le RER D. Un train sur 3 devrait circuler sur le RER B nord et le RER E, 1 sur 5 sur le C.

Statu quo pour les TER et Intercités

La circulation des TER et des Intercités devrait être comparable à celle de mardi, avec respectivement 1 train sur 5 et 1 sur 8 sur les rails.

Trafic presque normal sur le Thalys et l’Eurostar, nul vers l’Italie et l’Espagne

Même chose pour le trafic international, avec un trafic quasi normal sur le Thalys, 3 Eurostar sur 4, mais pas de train vers l’Italie, la Suisse ou l’Espagne et 1 sur 3 vers l’Allemagne.

Another literary project is that of commemoration of an aircraft crash on Djouce mountain in Wicklow in 1946. Bill wrote articles for the 50th, 60th and most recently the 70th anniversary, (12 Aug 2016) all were published in the Wicklow Times and ensured the survivors of the crash, all French Girl Guides, were not forgotten. Articles reproduced on this website. But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Each article is translated on a paragraph by paragraph basis so easy to read in either language and even possible to improve either language by comparison of the short English and French paragraphs. Amusez vous bien. The author is currently writing an easy to read technical aviation book centered around the Fokker 50. Another interest is that dealt with in another of Bill's websites www.realnamara.net, a Statue of the mother of God, Mary. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
