Les familles ont reçu samedi 28 octobre 2017 les conclusions définitives de l’enquête concernant l’accident mortel du 14 novembre 2015 à Eckwersheim (67). Une rame d’essai du TGV avait déraillé dans un virage juste avant un pont, faisant 11 morts et 42 blessés.

Families received the final conclusions on Sat 28 Oct of the investigation into the fatal accident on 14 Nov 2015 in Eckwersheim (67). A trial TGV train was derailed on a bend just before a bridge, leading to 11 deaths and 42 injured.

Le parquet a communiqué hier les conclusions définitives de l’enquête judiciaire aux familles et aux victimes de l’accident. Ces conclusions pointent du doigt la responsabilité de la SNCF et de sa filiale Systra, chargée des essais.
The court communique issued it’s final report of the judicial investigation to the families and victims of the accident. The conclusions point the finger of responsibility at SNCF and it’s partner Systra, who run the trials and training.

Manque d’informations et de rigueur.

Lack of information and procedure.

Inexpérience des personnels chargés de faire les essais en survitesse, manque de formation de ces personnels, manque de coordination avec la SNCF et de briefings pour préparer les essais, manque de rigueur dans l’organisations des essais. La liste est longue des reproches faits aux entreprises chargées de ces essais en survitesse.

L’équipage de conduite ne disposait ni des informations suffisantes ni des compétences requises pour conduire ces essais. Les conclusions sont accablantes.

Et il y a encore un élément particulièrement choquant : Systra, la filiale de la SNCF a demandé à l’équipage de procéder à des essais en survitesse à 10% de plus que la vitesse de conception de la ligne, et non la vitesse de commercialisation. Donc l’essai à 330 km/h a été validé au lieu de 187 km/h sans justification ni information au personnel d’essai.

Le 14 novembre 2015

La rame d’essai circulait à 265 km/h à l’entrée de la courbe située en amont de l’accident, pour une vitesse normalement prévue à 176 km/h. Et elle circulait encore à 243 km/h au point de déraillement situé 200 mètres plus loin.

Elle avait déraillé et était tombée dans un canal, faisant 11 morts et 42 blessés, dont certains très grièvement, parmi les 53 personnes qui se trouvaient à bord.

Another literary project is that of commemoration of an aircraft crash on Djouce mountain in Wicklow in 1946. Bill wrote articles for the 50th, 60th and most recently the 70th anniversary, (12 Aug 2016) all were published in the Wicklow Times and ensured the survivors of the crash, all French Girl Guides, were not forgotten. Articles reproduced on this website. But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Each article is translated on a paragraph by paragraph basis so easy to read in either language and even possible to improve either language by comparison of the short English and French paragraphs. Amusez vous bien. The author is currently writing an easy to read technical aviation book centered around the Fokker 50. Another interest is that dealt with in another of Bill's websites www.realnamara.net, a Statue of the mother of God, Mary. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
