La compagnie aérienne Yemenia Airways a été mise en examen, 5 ans après l’accident de l’Airbus A310 qui s’était abîmé en mer. 152 personnes dont plusieurs Français sont morts dans le crash et une seule personne, une adolescente, a survécu.
The airline Yemeni Airways have been put on trial, five yeara after the accident of the Airbus A310, which was damaged in a crash into the sea. 152 people including many French died in the crash and only one person, an adolescent, survived.
C’était il y a 5 ans, le 30 juin 2009. Un avion de la Yemenia Airways s’écrasait au large des Comores en plein Océan indien. Parmi les 152 morts, un certain nombre de Français qui rendaient visite à leur famille sur l’archipel.Il aura fallu 5 ans d’instruction menée par un juge du tribunal de Bobigny, en région parisienne, pour que la compagnie aérienne soit mise en examen pour “homicide volontaire“. Une décision notifiée aux responsables de la compagnie le 15 novembre 2013.
That was 5 years ago, 30 June 2009. An aircraft of Yemani Airways crashed in the isolated Comores in the vast Indian Ocean. Among the 152 dead, a number of French who were visiting their families in the archipeligo. Même si cette décision intervient tardivement, les familles des victimes sont soulagées. ll s’agit, selon leur communiqué, d’une “décision capitale dans le chemin” vers la justice. “La Yemenia va devoir s’expliquer, et c’est un soulagement pour nos clients, qui ne s’expliquent pas pourquoi cela n’a pas été fait depuis longtemps”, a réagi l’un des avocats des familles.
Although this decision has come late, the families of the victims are releived. In this case, according to the communiqué, an “important decision has been made on the road” to justice. “The Yemin have to explain, and it is a relief four our clients, but it doesn’t explain why it took so long”, was a reaction from one of the solicitors of the families.
De “graves entorses” aux règles de l’OACI

En juin 2009, l’Airbus A 310 de la Yemenia Airways s’était écrasé avec à son bord 142 passagers et 11 membres d’équipage. Bahia Bakary, 14 ans avait été la seule survivante. Aujourd’hui, elle bénéficie toujours d’un suivi psychologique.
