REPORTAGE | Les soldats français déployés en Centrafrique ont commencé lundi les opérations de désarmement des milices chrétiennes et musulmanes, qui terrorisent les populations depuis plusieurs mois. Une opération qui se déroule dans un climat pour le moins tendu, de brefs échanges de tirs ont eu lieu lundi matin.

The French soldiers deployed in CAR have started on Monday the operation of disarming the irregular Christian and Muslim militias, who have terrorised the the populations for several months. The operation is on-going to reduce the climate of tension, among brief exchanges of fire in the area on Monday morning.

François Hollande sera ce mardi soir en Centrafrique

Alors qu’un débat sur l’intervention française va être organisé ce mardi après-midi à l’Assemblée et au Sénat, le président de la République va se rendre sur le terrain indique l’Elysée. François Hollande pourrait donc être ce soir aux côtés des soldats françaises qui ont entamé ce lundi le difficile désarmement des milices. Une opération dans laquelle deux soldats ont été tués cette nuit.

Francois Hollande will be in CAR this Tuesday evening (enroute from SA). Although a debate on the French intervention is to be organised for this afternoon in the Assembly and Senate, the president of the Republic will be on the ground as indicated by the Elysée Palace. This evening Francois Hollande could well be with the French soldiers who started on Monday the difficult task of disarming the militias. The operation which has cost the lives of two soldiers tonight.

Deux soldats français tués dans un accrochage à Bangui

Alors que le président de la République, François Hollande, doit se rendre en Centrafrique ce mardi soir, où quelque 1.600 soldats français sont déployés depuis la fin de la semaine, l’Elysée a annoncé la mort de deux militaires, Antoine Le Quinio, 22 ans et Nicolas Vokaer, 23 ans. Ils appartenaient au 8e RPIMa de Castres et ont été tués la nuit dernière dans un accrochage à Bangui, la capitale.

As Francois Hollande is visiting the CAR this Tuesday evening, some 1,600 French soldiers have been deployed since the end of last week, the Elysee has announced the death of two military personnel, Antoine Le Quino, age 22 and Nicolas Vokaer, aged 23. They were attached to the 8th Castres brigade and killed last night in an exchange of fire in the capital Bangui.

Bill is a member of the Drama League of Ireland and his plays have been critically vetted and certified as original pieces of work by the DLI. Another literary project is that of commemoration of an aircraft crash on Djouce mountain in Wicklow in 1946. Bill wrote articles for the 50th, 60th and most recently the 70th anniversary, (12 Aug 2016) all were published in the Wicklow Times and ensured the survivors of the crash, all French Girl Guides, were not forgotten. But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
