Accident de scooter : Depardieu sèche son rendez-vous au tribunal

Gérard Depardieu avait en principe rendez-vous avec la justice française ce mardi. L’acteur franco-russe devait comparaître pour conduite en état d’ivresse. L’affaire remonte au 29 novembre dernier à Paris. Mais il ne s’est pas présenté au tribunal. Il se trouve actuellement au Monténégro.

Quelques semaines avant le début de la polémique sur son exil fiscal, l’acteur fait une chute à scooter. Problème : un taux d’1,8 gramme d’alcool par litre de sang, soit un peu plus de trois fois le taux autorisé est constaté. C’est pour ce délit que Gérard Depardieu est visé par une “comparution sur reconnaissance préalable de culpabilité“ (CRPC) et devait faire l’objet ce mardi d’une procédure dite de plaider coupable.

Surprise ce mardi matin : Gérard Depardieu ne s’est pas présenté à cette convocation. Son absence à cette procédure dite de “plaider coupable“, formule simplifiée et alternative au procès, doit théoriquement entraîner son renvoi devant le tribunal correctionnel, à une date ultérieure.

Perhaps the real reason why Gerard Depardieu has exiled himself from France is because of a pending drink driving charge.  A few weeks before his high profile move to Belgium Depardieu had an accident on a scooter. His level of alcohol was recorded at 1.8 gm per ltr of blood, more than three times the allowable limit. He excused himself from a hearing in December by claiming he was on a business trip. Today he was due to appear again but has excused himself again through his legal counsel (Maitre) who says his client will be available to appear before the tribunal (court) to plead guilty within a few months. Depardieu has been in Russia last weekend to collect his new Russian passport and was photographed with Sepp Blatter in Zurich last night at the presentation of the Ballon D’Or. (It looks like FIFA have a habit of attracting clowns!) His drink driving infraction can result in a prison term. No-show at a court hearing can have the same penalty.

It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
