Ils seront 198 à s’élancer samedi sur la ligne de départ du Tour de France 2015 à Ultrecht aux Pays-Bas. Un parcours de 3.360 kilomètres, 21 étapes et 4 maillots à décrocher. Pour cette 102e édition, quatre coureurs sont favoris, mais ils devront passer une première semaine qui s’annonce éprouvante.

198 riders will cross the start line tomorrow for the 2015 Tour de France at Utrecht in the Netherlands. the route comprises 3,360 kms, 21 stages and four jersies are up for grabs. For this 102 nd edition, four riders are favoured, but they will have to use the first week to prove their worth.

C’est à 14 heures samedi que le premier coureur du Tour de France 2015 passera la ligne de départ. A Ultrecht, on attend avec beaucoup de hâte ce premier et seul contre-la-montre individuel : 13 kilomètres dans les rues de la ville hollandaise, 800.000 personnes attendues pendant tout ce week-end. C’est un coureur érythréen,  Daniel Teklehaimanot, un des deux premiers subsahariens engagés sur le Tour de France, qui partira en première position ce samedi.

Ce Tour de France 2015 offre un plateau de rêve : trois anciens vainqueurs du tour de France : Vincenzo Nibali, tenant du titre, Alberto Contador, Christopher Froome et le colombien Nairo Quintana. Reste à savoir s’ils tiendront la route : “Le principal, c’est surtout qu’on ait ces coureurs pendant tout le Tour de France, pas comme l’année passée, où Contador et Froome ont quitté le Tour de France assez rapidement. Ce serait dommage, on est là pour avoir du spectacle“, selon Jean-François Bernard, consultant cyclisme de France Info.

Une première semaine “décisive”

La première semaine sera difficile, avec l’étape qui conduira en Zélande dimanche, avec une possibilité de vent . Les coureurs arriveront ensuite sur une digue. Il y aura également le Mur de Huy en Belgique, les pavés du côté de Cambrai. Il y a des Français, Thibaut Pinot, Jean-Christophe Péraud, qui vont devoir bien passer cette première semaine pour essayer de conserver des espoirs.

“Cette première semaine sera une partie décisive du Tour de France, parce qu’elle a plein de pièges, jusqu’à ce contre-la-montre par équipe au bout de la 8e étape, donc assez compliqué. Les Français devront confirmer ce qu’ils ont fait l’année passée, ce qui n’est pas le plus facile“, expilque Jean-François Bernard.

It's next staging was in the one act circuit is in Cavan, at Maudebawn on Sat 10 Nov 2012. Then it was performed in the Bray, Co.Wicklow at the very popular one act festival in January 2013. Next play is FEAR. A dark tale about revenge on the cruel death of two pensioners by young thugs. Neighbours hatch a devious and dangerous plan to exact old-style revenge. Bill is a member of the Drama League of Ireland and his plays have been critically vetted and certified as original pieces of work by the DLI. Another literary project is that of commemoration of an aircraft crash on Djouce mountain in Wicklow in 1946. Bill wrote articles for the 50th, 60th and most recently the 70th anniversary, (12 Aug 2016) all were published in the Wicklow Times and ensured the survivors of the crash, all French Girl Guides, were not forgotten. Articles reproduced on this website. But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Each article is translated on a paragraph by paragraph basis so easy to read in either language and even possible to improve either language by comparison of the short English and French paragraphs. Amusez vous bien. The author is currently writing an easy to read technical aviation book centered around the Fokker 50. Another interest is that dealt with in another of Bill's websites www.realnamara.net, a Statue of the mother of God, Mary. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
