Air France flight refused entry into Russian airspace.

Interdit d’espace aérien russe, un vol Air France à destination du Vietnam est obligé de faire demi-tour

La compagnie aérienne évoque un bug informatique et cherche à comprendre les raisons de ce demi-tour.

“Je n’avais jamais entendu ça, les autres passagers non plus.” Un vol Air France qui devait effectuer la liaison entre Paris et Ho-Chi-Minh-Ville (Vietnam) a été obligé de faire demi-tour, jeudi 1er novembre, faute d’autorisation pour survoler l’espace aérien russe, rapporte la compagnie à franceinfo, confirmant une information d’Europe 1.

L’avion a décollé de l’aéroport Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulles à 13h10 sans problème, mais au bout de quelques heures “le capitaine nous annonce que l’on n’avait pas l’autorisation de survoler une partie du territoire russe, et que l’on rentrait à Paris, raconte une passagère à Europe 1. Et je dois avouer que le responsable a confirmé qu’il n’avait jamais vu ça de toute sa carrière”.

Malgré une tentative de se poser à Varsovie (Pologne), l’avion est retourné à Paris, six heures après le décollage. Certains passagers ont été redirigés vers d’autres vols. De son côté, Air France évoque un bug informatique en pleine saison, où les catalogues de vols sont susceptibles de changer.

Another literary project is that of commemoration of an aircraft crash on Djouce mountain in Wicklow in 1946. Bill wrote articles for the 50th, 60th and most recently the 70th anniversary, (12 Aug 2016) all were published in the Wicklow Times and ensured the survivors of the crash, all French Girl Guides, were not forgotten. But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Each article is translated on a paragraph by paragraph basis so easy to read in either language and even possible to improve either language by comparison of the short English and French paragraphs. Amusez vous bien. The author is currently writing an easy to read technical aviation book centered around the Fokker 50. Another interest is that dealt with in another of Bill's websites www.realnamara.net, a Statue of the mother of God, Mary. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
