La Réunion volcano: Eruption alert.

Piton de la Fournaise : alerte, éruption probable ou imminente ! Imminent.

Les séismes se multiplient, la partie sommitale du piton de la Fournaise se déforme. Ces signes annoncent une éruption possible dans les prochaines heures. En conséquence, le préfet de La Réunion a déclenché à 6 heures ce mardi 3 avril 2018, l’alerte 1 du plan Orsec. The seismic activity is multiplying, the summit of the rocky outcrop of volcano la Fournaise is deforming. These signs are indicating a possible eruption in the next hours. As a consequence the head of police launched an alert plan at 06h00 today.

L’observatoire volcanologique du Piton de la Fournaise enregistre depuis 5h50, ce mardi 3 avril 2018, une augmentation du nombre de séismes d’intensité croissante ainsi que des déformations persistantes au sommet du volcan.
Une éruption est donc probable à brève échéance, comme nous vous le signalions dès ce dimanche 1er avril 2018 et ce n’était pas un poisson. The volcanic observatory of Piton de la Fournaise (La Reunion) registered, at 05h50, today an increase in the number of trembles and showing a growing intensity that is persistently deforming the summit of the volcano. An eruption is now probable in the short-term, as they signaled on Sunday 1st April and it wasn’t an April fool joke.

Dans ces conditions, le préfet de la Réunion a décidé de déclencher l’alerte 1 : « Éruption probable ou imminente » du plan ORSEC* Volcan, à compter de 6 heures.
En conséquence, l’accès du public à la partie haute de l’enclos du Piton de la Fournaise est interdit. Il est rappelé que le poser d’aéronefs dans la zone du volcan est réglementé et soumis à autorisation de la Préfecture. La gendarmerie nationale et l’office national des forêts ont été chargés de veiller à l’application de ces mesures de sécurité sur le site. Under these conditions the prefect of Reunion police has decided to launch an Alert 1  “Eruption probable and imminent” from the local plan from 06h00. As a result, access by the public, above a certain height is forbidden in the volcano area. He has called on the local airfields to request authorisation from the Prefect for any traffic activity. The gendarmerie are charged with imposing and controlling these safety measures.

Worked in the technical / engineering area as a Science Laboratory Technician and as an Aeronautics Engineer. The artistic side involves writing under the nom de plume of Billy Olsenn, his recently written play 'A Case of Wine' was staged by the players group Straight Make-Up at the 2012 Birr one act drama festival. It's next staging was in the one act circuit is in Cavan, at Maudebawn on Sat 10 Nov 2012. Then it was performed in the Bray, Co.Wicklow at the very popular one act festival in January 2013. Next play is FEAR. A dark tale about revenge on the cruel death of two pensioners by young thugs. Neighbours hatch a devious and dangerous plan to exact old-style revenge. Bill is a member of the Drama League of Ireland and his plays have been critically vetted and certified as original pieces of work by the DLI. Another literary project is that of commemoration of an aircraft crash on Djouce mountain in Wicklow in 1946. Bill wrote articles for the 50th, 60th and most recently the 70th anniversary, (12 Aug 2016) all were published in the Wicklow Times and ensured the survivors of the crash, all French Girl Guides, were not forgotten. But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Amusez vous bien. The author is currently writing an easy to read technical aviation book centered around the Fokker 50. Another interest is that dealt with in another of Bill's websites www.realnamara.net, a Statue of the mother of God, Mary. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
